Anise Cosmetics and its Nail-Aid division are the dream of Tam Tran, who wants to share her passion for healthy beautiful nails with women worldwide. Tam's love for groomed healthy nails goes back to her youth. When Tam was a young girl, she loved visiting one of her aunts because she could sneak into her aunt’s bedroom to take different colors of polish and combine them to create unique colors that were never sold in any store. By the age of 11, Tam was the family’s nail girl. Instead of doing dishes, her important household task was to paint the nails of the women in her family. This was the beginning of Tam’s journey in the nail care business.

After years in the fashion industry in Los Angeles and London, Tam moved to Miami. She opened a small retail kiosk selling salon brands of nail care products in a major shopping center in south Florida.

Providing great service and selling professional-only products, Tam’s business exploded. Most important was her daily direct experiences with 100’s of customers. Tam learned that she and many customers had something in common. No matter what salon nail care brand they were using, and even though they had been wearing light French colors to avoid staining for many years, they just couldn’t get rid of the yellowing, brittleness and dryness of their natural nails.

To find a solution for her customers’ needs, Tam began to work with the most prestigious international laboratory. She learned that certain chemicals -formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate– used by the major nail care brands cause yellowing, dryness and brittleness in nails. Also, these toxic chemicals are harmful to a woman’s health and had been banned in Europe. Excluding these chemical ingredients from all formulas, the Anise Professional brand was created with its unique nail colors and treatments for salons and specialty retailers. With four collections each year, Anise offers stylish colors to women who love beautiful nails, latest fashion trends and healthy lifestyles.

Responding to women throughout the US and the world, in 2004 Tam started a division of Anise to market an innovative line of nail care treatment products. Treatments that deliver “Beautiful Nails with No Toxic Chemicals.” From its inception Nail-Aid is the world's first treatment brand to be 100% free of toxic chemicals. Unlike other nail care brands, we never have or would use any toxic chemical ingredient. Toxic has only one meaning... bad for a woman’s health.
